Your Instructor
Shannon has worked as a Diversional Therapist for over 20 years implementing leisure and lifestyle programs for people with dementia. She is passionate about the use of leisure in the health industry to promote positive outcomes and quality of life for people.
Shannon holds a Bachelor of Applied Science (Diversional Therapy) honours and a Diploma in Dementia Care.
Shannon has designed and developed the Multisensory Environments and program at Garrawarra Centre.
The ‘Multisensory environments in dementia care’ project was awarded best poster at the 2019 NSW Health Nursing and Midwifery showcase and was a finalist for the Diversional & Recreation Therapy Australia’s 2018 Award for Excellence.
